3T gives some ‘Kicks & Coins For Our Farmers’

2019 09 23 for our farmers web 01Did you know that 98% of Australia is in drought? Dams have dried up, water shortages are becoming a problem for rural communities and farmers and Sydney even has water restrictions!

3T students have been busy putting their thinking caps on, thinking of innovative ways to support our drought stricken farmers. They decided to create ‘Kicks & Coins For our Farmers’, a day that saw staff and students wear jerseys in solidarity and donate a gold coin. The whole school also got to enjoy watching a Year 12 Students vs Teachers Soccer Match.

Students were visited by Jess and Kim, two Salvations Army staff who work in the Strategic Emergency & Disaster Management team. The pair came to talk about what the Salvos does and how they help in many disasters around the world, particularly in Australia. 3T put on a thank you afternoon tea to say thank you to all the hard work the Salvos do.

From the day, $758.90 was raised which will go towards The Salvation Army to continue the wonderful work they do in rural communities.

Let’s continue to pray for rain, and for those in rural communities to know God’s peace, strength, love and forgiveness in their life.
