National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Survey

australian bureau of statisticsThe Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) are conducting the National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Survey (NATSIHS) to collect information about the health status of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
Interviewers will knock on doors seeking to ask questions a range of questions face-to-face about your health and lifestyle, such as:

  • visits to doctors, nurses or Aboriginal health workers
  • health conditions
  • medications
  • smoking
  • exercise
  • what you eat and drink

You will have the opportunity to take part in a voluntary hearing test and have some physical measurements taken, if you agree (height, weight, waist and blood pressure).
