HSC Minimum Standards

2015 07 27 Trail HSC Begins 2 of 2The Minister for Education recently announced that Year 9 NAPLAN tests will no longer be used as an early way for students to demonstrate the minimum standard of literacy and numeracy needed to receive the HSC from 2020.

This change has been made to ensure NAPLAN remains focused on its diagnostic purpose and to reduce unnecessary stress on young people. Students will show they meet the HSC minimum standard by passing online tests, which are available for them to sit when they are ready in Year 10, 11 or 12 and after the HSC.

Information will be forwarded to parents of Years 9 & 10.
