Students blessed by visit to Bella Vista Gardens

2019 05 27 bella vista gardens visit preview 01This week, 21 Middle School students paid a visit to the Bella Vista Gardens Nursing Home. They were accompanied by Mr Jason Mok and Mrs Lucy Driscoll.

Several residents revealed that they don’t have any family or relatives who visit them and they were touched that students would spend time with them. Others told us that they have family but they are 3-5 hours away and only visit at Christmas.

A man who has been a resident at Bella Vista Gardens for two years was known for refusing any activities or interactions with staff and residents. Year Six student Callum Birchill didn’t realise this and headed in with his list of questions to ask. Not only did he strike up a conversation with this gentleman, Callum had the man laughing and crying through the half hour chat. How special is that!! Praise God!

The visit was a resounding success and all students represented PHCS impeccably through their interactions with the staff and residents.

What a blessing this outing has been. We look forward to many more visits to come!
