ACT on your Child’s Academic Needs

2018 academic curriculum tutoringMy goal is that they may be encouraged in heart and united in love, so that they may have the full riches of complete understanding, in order that they may know the mystery of God, namely, Christ, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge - Colossians 2:2-3

If your child is struggling with numeracy or literacy levels or needs that boost of encouragement, Pacific Hills Christian School has the solution for you. ACT or Academic Curriculum Tutoring is the latest service to be offered by the school.

Children can work better in spaces they feel safe and familiar with and where more attention can be paid to the individual child. Instead of a class room environment where 20 to 30 students compete for the one teacher’s attention, specialised groups only contain up to six students.

PHCS Senior Students and High School graduates who have excelled in their HSC examinations lead the hour-long sessions and a qualified PHCS teacher will also be present at all tuition sessions.

The service would most benefit those students who are undertaking:

  • The NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) syllabus (Years 7 to 12)
  • NAPLAN Preparation (Years 7 to 9)
  • The Higher School Certificate (Year 12)

Prior to being placed in groups, students will undertake stage-appropriate Numeracy and Literacy pre-tests to help tutors understand their abilities.

The service will take place on a Thursday afternoon between the hours of 3pm to 4pm within the Senior School Building S2.4. Children of all academic abilities, in Year’s 7 to 12 are welcome to attend.

Fees cost $99 per student per term. For any further enquiries, please contact Dean of Academic Excellence, Royston Lee at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
