CSSA Primary State Netball Gala Day 2017

2017 08 10 cssa primary state netball 01Pacific Hills has had a fantastic year in Netball and last week our Primary girls stepped up and continued this success.
Our Year 3 & 4 (Juniors) and 5 & 6 (Seniors) teams competed at the CSSA State Netball Gala Day at Penrith last week and performed exceptionally well.

The Senior Girls team were undefeated throughout the rounds achieving the following results:

  • Defeated Calderwood Christian School , 20-1
  • Defeated Toongabbie Christian School, 22-1
  • Defeated Richard Johnson Anglican School, 25-0
  • Defeated Maitland Christian School, 15-0

The girls playing in the centre court (Emily, Rhiannon, Lauren M and Anna) displayed fantastic accurate passing skills, transitioning the ball down the court quickly and effectively to set up our GA and GS. Our shooters (Lauren C and Lydia) were exceptional throughout the day, displaying outstanding teamwork to score over 120 goals. Our skilful defensive team (Abbey, Erin, Maddison and Eloise) mastered the court, anticipated the play, intercepted many passes and prevented the opposition team from passing. Their performance meant we only had 13 goals scored against us all day. What an amazing effort!

In the finals the results were:

  • Quarter Final – defeated Greenacre Baptist School, 18-2
  • Semi-Final – defeated Belmont Christian School, 15-5
  • Grand Final – defeated Oxford Falls Grammar School, 13-4

Congratulations to this amazing group of girls for being State Champions. Their enthusiasm and commitment to training prior to the event, their positive attitude and encouragement towards each other on the court and their humility and sportsmanship in each and every game that they played demonstrated their love and passion for their sport. It was a privilege to coach these girls and I look forward to seeing them continue to excel in Netball in the future.
