2017 08 10 cssa cssa primary football 03On Thursday 10 August, the Junior School Boys Metro Cup team won the CSSA State Championships for the second consecutive year at Jamieson Park, South Penrith.

The team consisted of twelve boys from Years 3 and 4. The boys played tremendously well together, improving their passing and teamwork throughout each of the six games. The team remained undefeated throughout the day, making it through to the Grand Final against Shire Christian School. Yet again for the second year running, we met our regional rivals Oxford Falls in the Semi-Finals. We were fortunate enough to edge out our opponents 1-0 in a tense match.

The Grand Final was an excellent spectacle to watch. Inspirational midfielder Thomas Mason scored twice up a comfortable 2-0 Grand Final victory.

The boys won the State Championships in an impressive fashion. The team conceded one goal all day and scored almost twenty goals in the six matches. Congratulations to all players as they stepped up when it counted most in the finals series. All the boys displayed excellent sportsmanship, with each player significantly contributing to winning the State Championship.

Congratulations to the team: Thomas Mason, Mathew Sandejas, Josiah Messina, David Mendoza, Lachlan Forsyth, Peter Joyce, Caleb Saggin, Daniel Xia, Jude Roia, Xander Keller, Jack Cameron, Andrew Conway and Cori Macfarlane.
