CSSA State Netball Gala Day

cssa state netball gala web 01What a fantastic day was had by our Under 15 and Senior Girl’s Netball Teams at the CSSA State Championships. Held in Penrith, this annual event is a great opportunity for our older students to play the best Netballers in the CSSA Competition.

The Under 15 team had a mixed bag of results, with 4 wins and 2 losses. Unfortunately, despite their efforts and enthusiasm they were not able to continue onto the final matches.

Team List – Laura Ackley, Bethany Druery, Tessa Clancy, Megan Huntley, Amy Potts, Monique Rowan, Ashley Sekura, Aya Shepherd, Jemima Stephens. Coach – Miss Mann

The Senior team played five pool games, winning each of these with excellent skill and determination. The results were: vs Mt Annan 21-3, vs Belmont 15-6, vs Regents Park 17-6, vs Norwest 15-6 and vs Richard Johnson 8-5. A free flowing game against Toongabbie (29-6) in the Quarter Finals put us in good stead to progress through to the Semi-Final.

Once again in the semi-final (as in previous years) we came up against Inaburra, our strong rival. It was a tough and tight game with the ball being moved with speed and skill from end to end with minimal goals scores. Both teams displayed excellent defence and the girls had to demonstrate patience and skill to get the ball into our shooters to be able to score. In a well-executed and gutsy performance the Pac Hills girls conquered 10-4.

In the Grand-Final we played Belmont again and it was an exceptional game which demonstrated the commitment, skill and passion that the girls had played with all day. An outstanding finish to a fantastic day of Netball. Final score – PHCS defeated Belmont 20-5.

Congratulations to the girls on being the CSSA Senior State Netball Champions! It is a privilege to coach an amazing group of girls who display determination, positive attitude, effort, skill and team play. You girls are Awesome!!
