CSSA Gymnastics

2017 06 08 cssa gymnastics web 09What a great day Thursday 8 June turned out to be!! PHCS was represented by three gymnasts at the CSSA Men’s Artistic Gymnastics (MAG) competition. Nathaniel Whitfield (1E), Alex Whitfield (2J) and Jobey Mok (2J) arrived dressed in their Castle Hill RSL Gymnastics club colours ready for a day of flipping action and fun. They were representing Pacific Hills Christian School in Level 2 and Level 3 Gymnastics. This was Nathaniel’s first ever taste of competition.

Competition was of the highest quality and all competitors were clearly well prepared. It was a privilege to see gymnasts ranging from Level 1 to Level 7 (top level for school boys gymnastics). The skills on display were extraordinary and inspiring for all boys involved.

All boys completed their set routines in all 6 apparatus as sanctioned by Gymnastics Australia. These include:

  1. Floor
  2. Pommel
  3. Rings
  4. Vault
  5. High Bar
  6. Parallel bars

A snap shot of the results are below:

  • Nate Whitfield came 3rd in Rings (5th overall in Level 2 competition)
  • Alex Whitfield came 2nd in Vault and Pommel (4th overall in Level 2 Competition)
  • Jobey Mok came 1st in Pommel and 2nd in Parallel bars, Floor and High bar (2nd overall in Level 3 Competition)

I’m sure that you will join me in congratulating these boys on these outstanding results and achievements. Well done boys!
