Global Christian School Network Student Mission - Update

2016 10 11 gcsn student mission web 05Since we arrived, we have had a very busy but fruitful time. We have now met with all international students and staff. Last evening, we had dinner with the rest of the teams, which was wonderfully hosted by Phil Nash, Principal of SPH. The invited guest speaker is currently working with the Jakarta government. He is also assisting the current governor. He is a past student of SPH and he shared his journey. We were all very encouraged by his testimony.

The past couple of days, we worked closely with the St Philip’s team on our presentation to introduce our schools and Australia. We sang Waltzing Matilda, the Australian Anthem and Home among the Gumtrees. Our students did a great job in representing our school. We learnt about the other Christian schools from United Christian College – Kowloon East (Hong Kong), Marwa Sharon Christian School (Surabaya), White Rock Christian Academy (Canada), St Philip’s group of schools (Australia), Paramjyoti School (India) and the SPH schools (Indonesia).

We met our mission assignment Indonesian leaders and were briefed on the plans for the next few days. Everybody leaves for their mission assignments tomorrow morning. Mrs Tondl and the boys will be leaving for an orphanage while Mr Lee, Mrs Janse van Rensburg and the girls will head to a disability home. Your prayers will be much appreciated.

This evening, we had a relaxing time of fellowship and fun at the nearby shopping complex. Our student-hosts from SPH/SDH showed us around and we all had a delicious meal together.

We are thankful that everyone remains high spirited and excited about the coming activities. There has been a significant cohesion between all the students. We are also very glad to work closely with the students and staff of the other schools. It is blessing to learn from one another.
